The Short Version

MusicIsHistory.com is a movement activation platform. You can subscribe, buy merch, and participate in the movement. We treat you fairly. You treat us fairly. These terms make that explicit.

What This Site Is

MusicIsHistory.com is operated by DigitalDignity.org. It serves as the public-facing platform for the Music Is History concert series and the Digital Dignity Charter movement. The site provides information about the movement, hosts a subscriber list, operates an online store, and publishes event information.

The site is not a social network. It does not host user-generated content (beyond subscriber information). It is an advocacy and information platform.

Subscribing

When you subscribe, you provide your email and optional information (name, city, region). By subscribing, you agree to receive communications about events, movement updates, and the Digital Dignity Charter. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in any email or by contacting privacy@musicishistory.com.

Subscribing is free and will always be free. Your subscriber data is governed by our privacy policy.

Store Purchases

The Music Is History store sells merchandise and digital goods. All payments are processed through Stripe. By making a purchase, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate payment and shipping information
  • Pay the listed price plus any applicable shipping and taxes
  • Stripe's terms of service for payment processing

Refund Policy

Physical goods: If you're not satisfied, contact us within 30 days of delivery at hello@musicishistory.com. We'll work it out. Unworn, undamaged items can be returned for a full refund. We cover return shipping for defective items.

Digital goods: Due to the nature of digital products, sales are final unless the product is defective or not as described.

Intellectual Property

Yes, we see the irony. A movement about intellectual property rights has to protect its own. The Music Is History name, logo, the Digital Dignity Charter text, and all site content are the property of DigitalDignity.org unless otherwise noted.

You may share, quote, and reference our content for non-commercial purposes with attribution. For commercial use, media reproduction, or anything beyond fair use, contact press@musicishistory.com.

The Charter itself may be freely shared and reproduced in its entirety with attribution to DigitalDignity.org and a link to musicishistory.com/charter. We want it everywhere.

Limitation of Liability

MusicIsHistory.com is provided “as is.” While we work to ensure the site is accurate, secure, and functional, we cannot guarantee uninterrupted service or that all information is error-free.

DigitalDignity.org's liability for any claim related to this site or its services is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or $100, whichever is greater.

This limitation does not apply where prohibited by law.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes will be resolved through good-faith negotiation first — because that's how a movement should operate.

Changes to These Terms

If we update these terms, we'll change the date at the top and notify subscribers of material changes by email. We don't do silent updates. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
